Homer's Stacey Borgman missed out on a chance to qualify for the Olympics Friday at the 2004 Rowing World Cup Regatta in Munich, Germany.
Borgman and her partner, Sarah Hirst of Oak Ridge, Tenn., won the lightweight women's double sculls at U.S. Rowing's National Selection Regatta 2 in April.
This meant the duo had the opportunity to qualify for the Olympics by finishing in the top four places at Munich.
The team finished fourth in its semifinal on Friday, missing the final and thus missing a chance to finish in the top six. Saturday, the duo won the B final for a seventh-place overall finish.
The Olympic qualifiers in lightweight women's double sculls will now be determined at the second set of Olympics Trials, which will be June 26 to July 1 in West Windsor, N.J.
