Brain injury awareness walk set

The 10th annual Brain Awareness Walk and barbecue will be held Saturday. Sponsor sheets are available at the Independent Living Center, Bridges and by calling Mary Warrington of the Brain Injury Support Group at 283-5711.

Dog jog slated

Twin Cities Veterinary Clinic will host its third annual three-mile dog jog or walk at 2 p.m. Sunday at the clinic. The cost is a $20 donation for either event. Participants will receive a bandana for their pet. Lunch will be provided. T-shirts cost $15. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in the run in the men's and woman's divisions. Proceeds benefit the clinic's Angel Fund for sick and injured pets. For more information, rules or to register, call 262-4581.

Gardening class takes root

The University of Alaska Fairbanks, Cooperative Extension Service Kenai Peninsula district will offer an organic gardening class beginning Monday. Credits may be earned. The cost is $55. For more information, call 262-5824.
