Longtime Nikiski resident George Andrew Coombes died, Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at his home in Nikiski. He was 59.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at the American Legion Post No. 20 in Kenai.
Mr. Coombes was born Dec. 1, 1943, in Aberdeen, Wash. He graduated from Moclips High School in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He moved to Alaska in 1980 and worked all over Alaska as an electrician.
"George was friends with everyone and loved kids," said his daughter, Kristina.
Mr. Coombes is survived by his significant other, Millie McDonald of Nikiski; daughters, Kristina Hodges of Anchorage, Dawn Coombes and Angel Vanier, both of Olympia, Wash.; grandson, Joshua Hodge of Anchorage; granddaughter, Abby Vanier of Olympia; sisters, Julia Dubois of Olympia and Becky Cormier of Oak Harbor, Wash.; and brothers, James Coombes of Seattle and John Coombes of Anchorage.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
