UNALASKA (AP) -- The owner of a taxi company faces drug charges after a police officer noticed a bindle of cocaine on a table in the taxi office, according to police.

Officer Mike Holman was accompanying an agent with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service to the office of Dutch Harbor Taxi when he noticed the cocaine, according to charging documents.

Dong T. Nguyen, 60, admitted using cocaine but denied selling any, according to the charging papers. But a search found three scales, plastic bags with white powder residue, and $65,000, police said.

Nguyen told police the scales were used for weighing small amounts of crab meat for cooking, and he had the cash in case someone needed to cash a check.

Nguyen was charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance.
