Soldotna library hosts summer program

The Soldotna Public Library is sponsoring its 2003 summer reading program, "Laugh It Up at Your Library." Young people preschool age through young adult are invited to participate in games, story hours, prize drawings, contests and a reading club through the program, which will celebrate the silly stories, jokes, games and humor found in books, music and other library materials. Registration for the program opened Saturday. For more information, pick up a flyer at the library or call 262-4227.

AYEA annual camp planned

The Alaska Youth for Environmental Action will hold its third annual summer get-together Aug. 5-9 at the Tanana River Basin near Fairbanks. This event is for teens who want to learn about environmental topics, gain leadership skills and find ways to make a positive difference. The $200 fee includes travel, meals and accommodations. There are limited scholarships available. The deadline for applications is June 15. For more information, call (907) 258-4825.
