WASILLA (AP) -- Three men were arrested Sunday on charges of assault, burglary and conspiracy to kidnap, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Travis D. Lizer, 23, of Wasilla, Brian D. Lizer, 26, of Wasilla, and William P. Clary, 30, of Anchorage were being held Monday at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $37,500 bail each. Charges against the men also include criminal mischief.
According to troopers, Jeffrey A. Byers, 26, of Wasilla was on the telephone with his girlfriend just before 1 a.m. Sunday when the incident began.
Byers told troopers the three men burst into his residence with a baseball bat, a wire and a gun. He was beaten with the bat, choked from behind with the wire and threatened with the gun, he related.
His girlfriend overheard what was happening at called 911. Troopers responded, and Byers was rushed to Valley Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The three men were arrested Sunday afternoon.
