Homer resident Dolores Anne Lee died Monday, May 31, 2004, at Providence Medical Center in Anchorage due to heart failure. She was 75.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, June 4, at the Long-Term Care Facility at South Peninsula General Hospital in Homer. Interment will be in Hickerson Cemetery in Homer. Pallbearers will include Greg Lee, Tim Lee, Bruce Lee, Byron Lee, Grant Lee and Daryll Lee.
Mrs. Lee was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Big Stone, N.D. She graduated from Robbinsdale High School in Robbinsdale, Minn., and furthered her education by studying secretarial training for one year at college.
Mrs. Lee worked as a waitress at the Dinner Club at McCarthy's in Golden Valley, Minn., for 25 years. She moved to Homer in 1988 to be closer to family.
She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Homer. She enjoyed cribbage, bingo, cooking and reading.
"Dolores worked hard all her life, raising 10 children and working full time. She also found time to take her children swimming, on picnics, to the movies, playing softball, teaching them the 500 bid card game and she made delicious meals for them to enjoy. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her," her family said.
Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Byron John Lee, and her daughter, Suzzanne Lee.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lee of Homer and Deborah Lee of Magalia, Calif.; sons, Gregory Lee of Salinas, Calif., Timothy Lee of Washougal, Wash., Bruce Lee of Pace, Fla., Byron Lee of Phoenix, Grant Lee of Homer, Daryll Lee of St. Michael, Minn., and Jeffrey Lee of Vancouver, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
