Twelve home-schooled teens from the Kenai Peninsula celebrated the completion of a year-long civics/government class by traveling to Washington, D.C., April 26 to May 6.

The 10-day trip included visits to admire the memorials and monuments, as well as tour the White House, the Capitol building, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Secret Service.

A highlight of the trip was meeting with Alaska's Sen. Ted Stevens, pictured at far right.
