Dot Lake man arrested on sex abuse charges

MENTASTA LAKE (AP) -- A man from the village of Dot Lake has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse of a minor.

Alaska State Troopers said they received a report Friday of a sexual assault against a 14-year-old in the village of Mentasta Lake. The victim was taken to Fairbanks for treatment.

Following an investigation, Clyde Charles, 39, was arrested and transported to Glennallen where he was charged with second-degree sexual assault and sexual abuse of a minor. Troopers said their investigation is continuing and other charges may be filed.

Mentasta Lake is located six miles from the Tok Cutoff of the Glenn Highway.
