Twins split doubleheader with West

The American Legion Post 20 Twins took one of two games Sunday against West Anchorage. The Eagles won the first game 12-9, but rebounded to win the second game 17-15 with a fifth-inning comeback.

David Newby sparked the Twins' fifth-inning rally in game two with a two out walk, and Derek Martin reached on an error. Kyle Foster drew a walk and Nick Weigle belted a two-run single. Brian Tweedy was hit by a pitch, and Kenneth butler singled to drive in two more runs, tying the score at 15.

Cory Janson singled to lead off the sixth inning, advanced when Eric Newby reached on an error and scored on a fly ball by David Newby to give the Twins the lead.

David Newby faced four batters in the seventh, fanning the last batter of the game to earn the save and secure the Twins victory.
