Free immunizations available

The Homer Public Health Center has walk-in immunization clinics from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays for infants and child immunizations and adult and child tuberculosis testing and Thursdays for adult and teen immunizations and pregnancy testing. For more information, call the center at 235-8857.

SCI monthly meeting planned

The monthly membership meeting of the Safari Club International is at 6 p.m. today at Don Jose's in Soldotna. A new conservation project will be discussed, and elections will be held. At 7:30 p.m., Mike Hamrick of Hamrick's Horizons will give a slide show. For more information, call 283-4155.

Chamber meeting scheduled

Rep. Ken Lancaster, R-Soldotna, will speak at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce meeting today at noon at the Riverside House in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-9814.

Scavenger hunt rescheduled

Due to a scheduling conflict, Thursday's Art Scavenger Hunt at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center has been rescheduled for Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. Participants will be charged with finding items incorporated into the 95 pieces of art displayed as part of "Spirit of Alaska: The Inner Landscape." Participants can hunt in small teams or on their own. Prizes will be awarded to those who compile the most accurate and complete lists in the timeliest manner. Refreshments will be served. Public meeting slated

There will be a public meeting regarding the rehabilitation of East End Road and a pathway along Kachemak Drive in Homer Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Paul Banks Elementary School at 1340 East Road. CMCD course offered

The Center for Mediation and Community Dialogue will offer a 40-hour basic course in mediation. The course will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and June 13 and from 8 to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and June 14 and 15. The fee for the course is $400. Some scholarships are available and CMCD volunteers will be eligible for a partial rebate. For registration information, call Heidi Chay at 283-9227 or send and e-mail to chay@alaska.com.

Homesteader village open for summer

The Soldotna Historical Society Homesteader Village and Museum on Centennial Park Road in Soldotna is open throughout the summer until Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and on Sundays from noon until 4 p.m. It is closed Mondays.
