Trash and Treasure sale taking reservations

The Sterling Senior Citizens Center's Trash and Treasure sale will be June 21 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tables can be reserved for $15, and parking lot space can be reserved for $10. Call 262-6808 to reserve a spot.

Sockeye salmon count classic under way

The Sterling Senior Citizens Center will hold its sixth annual Kenai River Sockeye Salmon Count Classic. Guess the number of sockeye salmon that cross the Alaska Department of Fish and Game's fish counter as of noon Aug. 7.

Half the money from tickets will be given out in prizes. The closest guess receives 75 percent of the pot, the second closest gets 15 percent, and the third closest gets 10 percent. Tickets are $2.

The deadline for entries is July 31. Prizes will be awarded Aug. 24. Call 262-6808 for more information.

Barbecue planned this month

The Sterling Senior Citizens Center's 12th annual barbecue will be from 4 to 8 p.m. June 15 at the senior center. There will be ribs and chicken and prizes. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 3 to 12 and $30 for families of up to two adults and four children.

Forget-Me-Not Care Center

Every day: Newspaper and discussion group from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Brain challenge games from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Exercise group from 11:30 to noon. Lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m. Floor games from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Art activities from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Short stories or film clips from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. Depart at 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday: News, trivia plus, Jim playing the piano, country music

Thursday: News, song titles, making trivets, dice game

Friday: News, outing to greenhouse, Kenai line dancers, art

Friday: Exercise at 9 a.m., walking and line dancing at 10:30 a.m., pinochle at 12:45 p.m., bowling at 1 p.m.
