Former Kenai resident Jesse “Gordon” Swain died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, in Tacoma, Wash., from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was 56.
A small memorial will be held at a later date. Those wishing to attend should contact the family.
Mr. Swain lived on the Kenai Peninsula from 1981 to 1998 and worked a variety of jobs
“He was a man of many talents who loved his family and Alaska. Those who knew him will miss Gordon,” his family said.
Mr. Swain was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Gordon and Mary Swain; brothers, John Wesley, Roy Earl and Esker Lee Swain; and son, Jesse Gordon Clawson.
He is survived by his children, Christina Marie (Clawson) Tullila and her family from his first marriage to Margaret Clawson; four sons from his marriage to Threasa Thomas, Daniel Ryan Swain stationed with the Army at Fort Hood, Texas, Jesse Aaron Swain in the Naval Nuclear Power Training Program in Goose Creek, S.C., Dustin Gene Swain currently attending Skyview High School and Nicholas Ian Chea Swain attending Soldotna High School; brothers and sisters, James Thomas and Dorothy Swain of Batavia, Ill., Irene and Arnold Mathis of Meceda, Wis.; Shirley and Jack Burgwaldt of Batavia, Jerry Lee and Shirley Swain of Marmaduke, Ark., Ricky Gene and Debbie Swain of Paragould, Ark.; Gregory Allen Swain of Paragould, and Sherry Diane and James Hickman of Jones, Okla., and their families.
