FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A motorist was killed early Saturday in an accident on the Dalton Highway, about 88 miles north of Fairbanks.
The name of the victim was not released pending notification of family.
Alaska State Troopers said the driver was traveling northbound when he lost control of his Ford Expedition at about 7 a.m. and rolled over as many as 10 times.
The driver suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
A passenger in the vehicle, Olga Guessefeldt, 27, of Russia, was flown to Fairbanks for medical treatment.
Troopers said they think excessive speed contributed to the accident.
