Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna will host guitarist John Standefer at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church 1/2 mile from the 'Y' in Soldotna. Admission is $10 advance or $15 at the door.

NPRSA plans June events
The North Peninsula Recreation Service Area is planning the following June events. For more information, call Rachel Parra at 776-8800.
Summer Day Camp, June 13 through Aug. 4. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Children in grades first through sixth are encouraged to attend.
Preregistration is not required. Participants can attend for a full day or partial day. A variety of activities will be offered each day such as arts and crafts, sports, hiking, games, pottery, water activities, gym activities and cooking.
NPRSA and the Lighthouse Community Church are registering children in grades first through eighth for a two-day youth basketball camp June 27 and 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center.
Doug Mauldin, a basketball coach from Florida, will coach basketball fundamentals and skills and drills. Forms are available at the Nikiski pool. Deadline to register is June 24.
Watershed forum plans events
The Kenai Watershed Forum will host its annual Kenai River Festival on Saturday and Sunday. With food, music, vendors, educational activities, an hands-on science booth, fishing clinics, casting practice and 5-kilometer run.

Community race set to go
The Soldotna Rotary will host its annual rotary unity point-to-point run July 9.
The 10-mile race begins at 9 a.m. and the 5-kilometer race begins at 9:30 a.m. Bus transportation will be provided to starting lines. Participants are to meet at Soldotna High School one hour before start times. Both races will finish at SoHi.
Race bibs are available only at SoHi prior to the race. The cost is $10 for children ages 12 and under, $20 for adults or $50 per family. Day of race registration fees are $15 for children 12 and under and $25 for adults.
The race fee includes a shirt, finisher medals, awards for thetop three men and women in each category, door prizes and a postrace barbecue. For more information, call Steve Stenga at 262- 1770.
Space camp for girls set
The Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai will host at week long residential camp for girls ages 10 through 15. Camp will be held July 18 through 22. Hands-on, minds-on activities in math, science, launching rockets, robotics and astronomy are some the planned activities. The group will work together to construct a project underwater at an area pool. The cost is $300.
