Roger Dale Consiel
Lifelong Kenai resident and Alaska Native Roger Dale Consiel died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at home. He was 56.
A panikhida service will be held at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 6, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church in Kenai. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at Tyotkas at 1000 Mission Ave. in Kenai. Father Thomas Andrew will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Joel Consiel, Troy Consiel, David Mathew, Glenn Kooly, Coby Wilson Sr., Vern Stafford, Brian Johansen and Mark Johansen.
Mr. Consiel was born March 31, 1950, in Anchorage. He grew up and received his education in Kenai. He worked as a roustabout for Udelhoven Oilfield Systems Service in North Kenai.
“He enjoyed building model cars, boats and airplanes. He also enjoyed fishing,” his family said.
Mr. Consiel was preceded in death by his father, John “Kenai Joe” Consiel Sr.; his mother, Elsie Cresswell; and a nephew, Karl Karaffa.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Crystal Consiel of Kenai; sons, Joel and Troy Consiel of Kenai; daughter, Tia Fischer of Kenai; grandson, Josiah Fischer of Kenai; brothers and sister-in-law, Paul Karaffa of Kenai and John and Judy Consiel of Kasilof; nieces and nephews, Kimmie Karaffa and Kurt Karaffa, both of Odessa, Texas; and Jerry Consiel of Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to them at P.O. Box 3365, Kenai, AK 99611.
