ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Carol E. Lewis, a long-time professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, has been appointed dean of the School of Agriculture and Land Resources Management, UAF officials said.
Lewis, who has been the interim dean for nearly two years, also was appointed as director of the Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station.
Lewis has been a professor at UAF since 1973 and was department head from 1989 to 1998.
The School of Agriculture and Land Resources Management helps students prepare for careers in natural resources management and geography. The Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station provides research and outreach programs focusing on sustainable management of natural resources.
