Homer's Brann recognized with TRAAK award
Dave Brann of Homer, a member of the Kachemak Bay Nordic Ski Club and Homer's Beach Access Working Group, was recognized by Gov. Tony Knowles with a Trails and Recreation Access for Alaska Award for Excellence.
Brann has devoted countless hours to establish and maintain skiing and hiking trails in and around Homer over the past 20 years. Brann often can be spotted on local trails with a chainsaw or groomer in an effort to improve and maintain them for public use.
The TRAAK awards recognize the extraordinary commitment, leadership and innovation of those working to improve Alaska's trails and access to many recreational opportunities.
