Swim lessons available

The Kenai Central High School pool is taking registrations for its summer swim lessons. Lessons are offered Tuesdays through Fridays.

The cost is $32 per session. Private lessons are $10 for 30 minutes for one child or $15 for 30 minutes with two children. For more information or to register, call 283-7476.

Peninsula Democrats to meet

Historical society meeting planned

The Kasilof Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the McLane Center. At 7 p.m. a tour of area homes that have been repaired by Larry Meyer will take place.

Mental heath classes available

Central Peninsula Counseling Services offers a free weekly educational class. Each week will feature two groups per week scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Mondays and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays. For more information, call the center at 283-7501.

Peace group to meet

People for Peace and Justice will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at River City Books in Soldotna. For more information, call Mary Jo at 262-5447.

Golf tourney fundraiser set

The Birch Ridge Golf Course and the Golf Association will host a Rally for a Cure golf tournament at 2 p.m. Sunday in Soldotna. It will be a nine-hole scramble. The cost is $60. Community pandemic flu seminar slated

The Alaska Department of Public Health and Social Services, in conjunction with the city of Kenai and the Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management, will sponsor a free community pandemic flu seminar Monday through June 14 in Kenai.

The state will fund travel and lodging for those living more than 50 miles from Kenai. For more information, times and location, call Bonnie Hanson at 262-4910.

Lacrosse club seeks members
