Writers to meet

The Kenai Writers Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Kenai Municipal Library in the conference room. Participants should bring extra copies of their work to share.

Making the mold

A field casting workshop with Homer artist Lynn Marie Laden will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Pratt Museum in Homer. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday.

Artists wanted to decorate

The Pratt Museum in Homer is soliciting entries for its “Facing the Elements” outside art exhibit along the forest trail behind the museum. This year’s theme is “Natural Rhythms.”

The museum encourages visual artists, poets, writers, musicians, dancers, performance artists and actors to participate. Writings, music or theater can be original works or favorites presented in the open-air theater or along the forest trail on opening night or at another scheduled event. Reality show looking for Alaskans

ABC TV’s “Wife Swap,” is casting families from Alaska to be a part of its fourth season.

All families featured on the show receive a $20,000 honorarium. Referrals for families are welcome. The show offers a $1,000 finder’s fee to individuals recommending families who are featured on the show.

Potential families can live anywhere in Alaska and should consist of two parents who have at least one child, age 6 or older, living at home.

The premise of “Wife Swap” is one parent from each household swaps places for a week to experience how another family lives.

Any family can apply. The show is especially looking for families with businesses (restaurants, hotels, touring businesses, fishing, etc.), Native families, families that have relocated or have unique lifestyles.
