Exit Glacier campground to close

The National Park Service will close Exit Glacier Road and campground from 11 p.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Wednesday. For more information, call (907) 224-3175.

Summer recreation program planned

The city of Kenai Parks and Recreation Department's summer recreation program will start Monday. The program is for children ages 5 to 13. For more information, call 283-3855.

Hawaiian luau planned

The Soldotna Senior Center will host a Hawaiian luau fund-raiser June 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. To purchase tickets, call 262-2322.

Benefit scheduled June 17

A clam bake, spaghetti feed and Chinese auction will be held at 2 p.m. June 17 at the Rainbow Bar in Kenai. All donations will go to help Sandra Shilson with medical expenses for her cancer treatment. For more information, call 283-9929.

Public invited to hospital board meeting

The Central Peninsula General Hospital Service Area Board will meet June 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the Iliamna room at the hospital. For more information, call 262-9892.

Safe Sitter classes open for registration

Central Peninsula General Hospital will hold Safe Sitter classes June 25 and 26, July 12 and 13, and Aug. 6 and 7. Classes are open to boys and girls ages 11 to 13. For more information, call CPGH at 262-8172.

Permits needed for development near streams

Permits from the Kenai River Center are required for activities within 50-feet of a stream where salmon spawn. For a complete list of regulated streams and permit requirements, call the Kenai River Center at 260-4882.
