Marijuana grow operation discovered in Mat-Su bust

ANCHORAGE (AP) Authorities are seeking charges against four people after a commercial marijuana grow operation was discovered in the Mat-Su area, Alaska State Troopers said Friday.

The operation was discovered May 28 after drug enforcement investigators and Wasilla police served a search warrant in the Big Lake area, troopers said.

Authorities than served two other warrants in the area and one in Wasilla and seized 133 live marijuana plants.

Also seized were 1 1/2 pounds of processed marijuana, growing equipment, scales, firearms and about $8,400 in cash, troopers said.

No arrests have been made.
