Former Soldotna resident Stephen Campbell Dunk died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, in Gig Harbor, Wash., at the home of his daughter Susan Clarke and surrounded by his immediate family. He was 82.
Mr. Dunk graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1942, served three years in the Marine Corps, completed his bacholar of arts degree at Michigan State College, and completed his masters degree at Eastern Michigan University.
He spent 20 years in Soldotna before moving to Gig Harbor to be closer to his family. He worked for Michigan and Alaska as a vocational rehabilitation counselor.
“Steve had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved greatly by his family. He had been ill for the past 8 months and was cared for by his family and hospice,” his family said.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jacquelyn, daughter Gretchen, brother Frank and sisters Norma and Eunice.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan and son-in-law Andy; son, Steve, and daughter-in-law, Debbie of Olympia, Wash.; grandchildren John, Kate and Justin; sister, Margaret Placeway of Lapeer, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by Edwards Memorial Center in Tacoma, Wash.
