The Kenai City Council set the property tax mill rate at 3.85 in a special meeting last Monday night. That means that Kenai residents will pay $385 for each $100,000 of assessed property value. The City Council planned to adopt the rate at their last meeting, but the mill item wasn't included on the agenda due to a clerical error.
"I'm really sorry that I brought everyone here tonight to vote on this one thing," said City Manager Rick Koch.
The rate is .15 mils lower than last year's mill levy.
