THORNE BAY (AP) -- A Thorne Bay man has been cited for allegedly transporting big game hunters without a license, according to Alaska State Troopers.
The allegations against Timothy Wyatt, 39, stem from a May sting operation in which troopers working undercover posed as hunters needing a guide, spokesman Greg Wilkinson said Thursday.
Wyatt was approached by the undercover troopers and allegedly agreed to take them to a remote cabin on Kosciusko Island in southeast Alaska. Investigators said he took them to the cabin in his Cessna 180 float plane.
Wyatt was not registered as a guide, and failed to have a transporter's license or carry the necessary insurance of at least $100,000, officials said.
Wyatt is scheduled to be arraigned in Craig District Court June 19.
