The American Legion Post 20 Twins lost both games of a doubleheader to Dimond Sunday in Anchorage. The first game was 15-11, and the second 8-4.

In the seven-inning game 1, the Twins got runs from Zack Hicks, Chase Townsend and Kyle Foster in the top of the second inning on a Nick Weigle double.

But the Lynx bats responded at the bottom of the inning by knocking in eight straight runs .

At the top of the sixth, with the Lynx up 15-3, a Townsend RBI started a Twins rally that Dimond could only curtail after seven runs were scored.

Foster collected the loss, along with one RBI for the game. Newcomer Robbie Rounsaville had two RBIs and Hicks and Jacob Madrid each batted in a run. In the second game, Dimond got on the board with five runs in the bottom of the second. Foster was knocked in at the top of the third on a Townsend ground-out, and reached home again in the fifth inning on a similar play.

Corey Grimm scored in the sixth and Madrid, substituting for Grimm, tagged home in the seventh. But Dimond was too much for the Twins, stranding 10 Twins runners throughout the game and scoring three more Lynx runs.

Foster collected his second loss on the day, after the team took one of two games agains East Anchor-age Saturday.

"We would've liked to have split the weekend," said Twins manager Lance Coz. "But we're looking at the fact that we just started playing, and Dimond has been playing for a while with the good weather and high school ball season."

He said the game gave the team a good look at where they want to be once they've had some games under their belts.

"I'm kind of just feeling out line ups," Coz said.

The Twins record is 1-3. They play their next games in a doubleheader Saturday against Wasilla.
