Motocross Division hosts 1st race

The Kenai Peninsula Racing Lions Motocross Division held its first city race of the season on Saturday at Twin City Raceway. The division will host state races Saturday and Sunday at the raceway, starting at 10 a.m. The price for admission is $5, while children 12 and under get in free.

The results for the first city race follow:

A chance to learn to row

The Alaska Midnight Sun Rowing Association will have a learn-to-row, on-the-water session on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon with coach Mike Bailey for $40. Those wishing to participate must be 14 or over and must preregister by Friday.

Duathlon to take place June 20

The second annual Tsalteshi Solstice Duathlon will be held June 20 on the trails behind Skyview High School. Registration for this five-kilometer run and 10-kilometer bike is at 10 a.m. on race day, with the event starting at 11. Participants may compete as individuals or teams. The cost is $10 for Tsalteshi Trails Association members and $15 for nonmembers. Call Laura at 398-0774 or Kent at 394-6231 for more information.

KPHA accepts Tier 2 coaching applications

The Kenai Peninsula Hockey Association will be accepting Tier 2 coaching applications until Monday. Applications can be found at www.kpha.net and mailed to P.O. Box 1864, Soldotna, AK 99669. For more information, contact Chris Hanson at 335-4206.
