January Hughes and Dylan Yeager, both of Kansas City, were married Saturday, May 26, 2001, at the Kenai Senior Center. Ray C. Freeborn, grandfather of the bride, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Lori Hughes of Soldotna. She wore a floor-length dress with a beaded bodice and carried a bouquet of purple hydranga, sweet peas, white and purple roses and muscari.
The maid of honor was the bride's sister Haley Hughes and bridesmaids were Abigail Ulen, Azure Kraxberger and Sarah Coray. They wore purple velvet and satin dresses and carried white and purple roses and hydranga bouquets.
The groom is the son of Royce Yeager of Soldotna and Laura Yeager-Bias of Annapolis, Md.
His attendants were Rustin Smith and Michael Ely, both of Honolulu, Hawaii.
The reception was held at the Kenai Senior Center. The food was prepared by Sherrie Dahlen and Dorothy Freeborn, and the cake was made by Sherry Morrison-Burch.
Out-of-state guests included the bride's uncle and cousin, Mark and Lindsie Freeborn of River Falls, Wis., grandparents Ray and Dorothy Freeborn of Panama City Beach, Fla., aunt and uncle, Dr. Kathleen Hughes-Kuda and Alan Kuda from Minot, N.D., great-aunt Mavis Wendehl from Kent, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Dial of Anchorage and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Buckley of Orlando, Fla., and the groom's grandparents Carolin and Gaylord Arnold and aunt Kathy Apodoca, all of Yakima, Wash.
January is a 1997 graduate of Skyview High School and 2000 graduate of the DeVry Institute in Kansas City, where she is employed.
Dylan is a 1997 Skyview graduate and works for American Catastrophe in Kansas City.
The couple lives in Kansas City and plans to take a honeymoon in the future.
