ANCHORAGE (AP) Two Alaskans were wounded in separate accidental shootings this week.

In Juneau, a man accidentally shot himself in the lower back Sunday morning while in a dispute with another man.

Juneau police received a call at about 3:22 a.m. of a fight outside a Lemon Creek apartment. A few minutes later, one of the men called police to report he had been assaulted. He said Eric Boone, 39, had pointed a loaded gun at him, and when Boone put the gun back in his pants, it went off.

Boone appeared at the police station shortly before 5 a.m. He was treated at Bartlett Regional Hospital and jailed at Lemon Creek Correctional Center on an assault and weapons misconduct charge.

On Monday afternoon, a North Pole man accidentally shot himself in the leg near Piledriver Slough.

Alaska State Troopers said Jessy Nolan III, 21, was carrying a weapon in his pocket when it discharged.

Family members transported him to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
