Quake rocks Aleutians

ANCHORAGE (AP) A moderate earthquake struck the Aleutians Islands region Tuesday afternoon.

The quake occurred at 12:59 p.m. about 100 miles southeast of Amchitka Island. It was 25 miles deep.

The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.3, according to the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
