Interfaith network to meet

A meeting of the Interfaith Hospitality Network will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at Soldotna City Hall. Overflow parking is available at the former Gottschalk's parking lot. The public is encouraged to attend. For more information, call Joan Crow-Epps at 262-9019.

AWG schedules board meeting

The Arctic Winter Games will hold a board meeting at 5:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month beginning today at the AWG office at 450 Marathon Road in Kenai. For more information, call Terri Nettles at 714-2380.

KPC to show earth-friendly building videos

The Kenai Peninsula College will show two earth-friendly instructional building methods at 6:30 p.m. today in room 206 B at the college. The first film will show building with cob, a mixture of sand, clay, straw and water. The second film will demonstrate how to build with papercrete and paper adobe. Seniors host luau

The Soldotna Senior Citizen Center will host a Hawaiian luau from 5 to 8 p.m. June 19 at the center. The menu will included kalua pork, pulehu chicken, mana kalani ribs, sweet potatoes, poi, rice, haupia, Caribbean salads and guava cake. The cost is $18, or $10 for children under 12. Tickets should be purchased in advance. Hawaiian entertainment, door prizes and a raffle are some of the planned activities. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 262-2322.

Boys and Girls Club plans golf tourney

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula is taking reservations for its 13th annual Golf Classic on June 18 at the Kenai Golf Course. Attendees will receive a goody bag, tournament gift, continental breakfast, barbecue lunch and free drinks. There also will be opportunities to win prizes. The proceeds will go to help provide quality programs to peninsula youth.

Registration and breakfast will be from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Entry fee for individual players is $100 and hole sponsorships are $250. Volksmarch 10K planned

The Anchorage Volkssport Club will host volksmarches (10-kilometer) walks daily through Sept. 30 at the Kenai Subway. A volksmarch is a noncompetitive walk designed to encourage walking for health. Participants may ask for a map and instructions from the Anchorage Volkssport Club box behind the counter at Subway during the store's hours, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays.
