Kenai resident and Alaska Native Debra Lynn Chaffin died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at home in Kenai. She was 48.
Burial of her ashes will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at the Kenai City Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow the burial at 635 Dolchok Lane in Kenai.
Miss Chaffin was born Aug. 4, 1961, in Anchorage to LeRoy and Adeline (Showalter) Chaffin. She grew up in Anchorage and Kenai. She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed life and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed camping and traveling.
"She had a smile that she really blessed people with. She was very loving and loved spending time with the elders at the elder's lunches," her family said.
Miss Chaffin was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Chaffin; grandparents, Ward and Nadia Showalter and Lula (Grow) Chaffin; and many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her mother, Adeline Chaffin of Kenai; sons, Derick and Ryan Robison of Anchorage; companion, Allen Holliday of Kenai; brother, Kenneth Chaffin of Anchorage; sister, Tina Chaffin of Anchorage, and Sandra Chaffin of Oregon; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
