Area students receive degrees
The following students have earned degrees from various colleges and universities.
Casey S. Olson of Soldotna completed the computer networking specialist program at Western Dakota Technical Institute in Rapid City, S.D.
Kara Pike of Kenai completed the degree program at University of Evansville in Evansville, Ind. She is the daughter of Richard and Susan Pike.
Joseph M. Evensen of Homer received a doctorate from the Norman campus of the University of Oklahoma.
Scott Waltemyer of Soldotna graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in sports management from Towson University in Towson, Md. He is the son of David and Stephanie Waltemyer of Soldotna.
Azure Kraxberger of Kasilof graduated from Northern Arizona University with a 3.5 grade point average. She is the daughter of Barb and Rick Kraxberger.
Cynthia J. DuBois of Kenai graduated with a bachelor's degree in human resource management and business administration as summa cum laude from the Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, N.M.
Travis Clark Richardson received a bachelor's degree in theater arts from Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minn.
Matthew Alan Buchholz received a bachelor's degree in radiation health physics from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore.
Ariel Renee Morse received a bachelor's degree in microbiology from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore.
Sarah Richardson of Kenai received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M. She is the daughter of Lloyd and Jennifer Richardson of Kenai.
Milica George-Ann McDowell of Soldotna received a bachelor's degree from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont.
Eric Clifford O'Guinn of Soldotna received a bachelor's degree from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont.
Kathy Bell of Flagstaff, Ariz., a 1996 Skyview graduate, graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in kindergarten through 12th-grade physical education from North Arizona University.
Dawn Estes received an associate's degree in dental hygiene from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She is the daughter of Don and Mary Estes of Kenai.
Joseph Aley of Kalifornsky Beach received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is the son of Lee and Carol Aley of Kenai.
Anne Dubber of Kenai received a bachelor's degree in language. She is the daughter of David Horne and Debra Holle of Kenai.
Traci Gonzalez received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She is the daughter of Greg and Linda Barclay of Kenai.
Sarah Hollier received an associate's degree in applied science in architectural and engineering technology from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Shane Slemp received a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University if Alaska Anchorage. He is the son of Bill and Susan Slemp of Kenai.
Misty L. McQueen received a bachelor's degree in justice from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She is the daughter of Deborah Goodwin and Alan McQueen of Nikiski.

Students named to dean's list
Carrie Pattison of Nikiski was named to the dean's list of George Fox University in Newberg, Ore., for the spring 2001 semester.
She is the daughter of Wayne and Lynette Pattison of Kenai.
Benjamin McGarry of Kasilof was named to the dean's list of George Fox University in Newberg, Ore., for the spring 2001 semester.
He is the son of Jerry and Peggy McGarry of Kasilof.
To be named to the George Fox University dean's list, students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or higher while taking at least 12 graded credit hours of classes.
Meghan Catherine Murray of Soldotna was named to the 2001 spring freshman honor roll at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo.
To be eligible, University of Wyoming students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for letter grades.
