Senator's prompt help wins this Alaskan's confidence

I wanted to let your readers know about my experience with Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

When she was first appointed, I was prepared to question her, because the idea of nepotism is so repugnant to me, but last year I had occasion to ask her for help. We were having a problem with the Department of Veterans Affairs regarding my husband's urgent health care.

I sent a letter to Sen. Murkowski, and within two weeks, the VA notified me that my husband would get the care he was being denied. I was sent a copy of the letter Sen. Murkowski sent, and she really went to bat for my husband. We both really appreciated her prompt attention to our urgent problem.

Seldom have I had any elected official take such speedy, effective action, and I will be voting for her at the next election. For me, actions speak louder than words, and Sen. Murkowski took action on our behalf. I will show my appreciation by voting for her.
