Army identifies soldier who died at Fort Wainwright

FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A soldier found dead Monday at Fort Wainwright has been identified by the Army.

Military authorities said Spc. Jacob Douglas, 26, of Tallahassee, Fla. was found dead by his barracks roommate.

Douglas was a military police desk sergeant assigned to the 28th Military Police Detachment.

He joined the Army in May 2000 and was assigned to Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks in November that year.

Army officials are conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
