A Seward man was stabbed in the arm and he and another man were arrested for assault following an altercation among three roommates early Monday morning.
According to Alaska State Troopers, the incident began when one of the roommates, a 52-year-old woman, made what was construed as a derogatory remark toward Alfred Komok, 53.
Komok allegedly raised his arms and went toward the woman as if to choke her.
The third roommate, Alexander Knots, 34, attempted to stop Komok from choking the woman by stabbing him in the left biceps with a knife, according to troopers.
Komok was treated at the scene by Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corps medics and taken to Providence Seward Medical Center, where he refused further treatment.
He was taken into protective custody at the hospital and subsequently was charged with fourth-degree assault and taken to Seward Jail.
Knots also was taken to Seward Jail and charged with second-degree assault.
The woman was unharmed.
