Lessons going swimmingly
The Skyview High School pool's summer swim season continues with additional sessions. Planned are: Session two June 20 through July 1; session three July 11 through 22; and session four July 25 through Aug. 5. Swim team tryouts begin
The Soldotna Silver Salmon swim team will hold open tryouts at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Soldotna High School pool. For more information, call 262-7419.
Unserviceable American flags sought
American Legion Post No. 20 will host a Flag Day ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the post on the corner of Main and Cook in Kenai. The ceremony will feature the proper disposal of unserviceable American flags. The public is encouraged to attend.
Community members with flags for disposal may drop them off at the post. For more information, call 283-3222.
Hearing, vision screening available
The Frontier Community Services Early Intervention program will offer a free hearing and vision screening clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 20 at its office. Children ages birth to 3 years are eligible to participate. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 262-3144, ext. 227.
Clothes Closet plans closure
The LeeShore Center's Clothes Closet will be closed from June 20 to July 5 for remodeling. After July 5 it will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For more information, call 283-9479.
Baseball series seeks sponsors
Frontier Community Services is seeking sponsorships, donations and possible vendors for its annual World Series Baseball event July 9 at the Kenai Little League fields.
