Support helped students work at learning

Posted: Monday, June 12, 2006

The students and teachers of the Kenai Central High School Work Experience Program would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have helped us this school year. The Kenai community has as always stepped forward and welcomed our student workers into their businesses. Without this wonderful support, we would not be able to continue the student’s workplace education. The administration, counselors and faculty are all instrumental in the success of this essential program.

This year we have had the pleasure of working for: Alyeska Tire and Sales, The Haircutters, the great folks at The Salvation Army Thrift Store, Arctic Winter Games Head Office, Kelly at Golden Tan, Heritage Place in Soldotna, and Missy and the other wonderful people at the Kenai Senior Center. This year we were also able to have students at Sears Elementary in Ms. Ralston’s 2nd grade class. We were able to place a student with Frontier Community Services in their Vocational Training Program for the first time.

The Work Experience Program is very grateful for all the assistance we

received from Nadine of Independent Living Center, Joyce and Ann at

Frontier Community Services, Ms. Loretta with The Talents Program, and Hope Community Resources.
