Virginia 'Marlene' Supko
Anchorage resident Virginia "Marlene" Supko died Friday, June 9, 2000, after a lengthy illness. She was 67.
Visitation will be held at the Russian Orthodox Church in Kenai Thursday at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the church. A reception will be held at Fort Kenay following the service.
The pallbearers will be Bobby Tepp, Darryl Tepp, Gordon Ray Baktuit, Dale Baktuit, Ron Refredi and Michael Boulette. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Murphy and Tom O'Connell.
She was born and raised in Kenai. She resided and worked in Anchorage and retired after many years of service at the Alaska Native Medical Center.
She enjoyed time spent with her friends and family and loved working in her flower garden.
"She will be greatly missed but will live in our hearts forever," her family said.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Starbard.
She is survived by her son, Gary Starbard; brothers Gordon and Albert Baktuit; sisters Evelyn Boulette and Carol Dolan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
