Army says Fort Wainwright soldier likely died of natural causes

FAIRBANKS (AP) -- The U.S. Army said a 26-year-old Fort Wainwright soldier who was found dead Monday likely died of natural causes.

Spc. Jacob Douglas of Tallahassee, Fla., was found in his barracks. Douglas was a desk clerk assigned to the 28th Military Police Detachment at the post near Fairbanks.

Post spokeswoman Linda Douglass said Wednesday that final autopsy results will be available in about a month. She would not say what authorities believe caused Douglas' death.
