Chugach to hold public meetings

Chugach Electric Association will host a joint agency and public meeting and site visit at 9:30 a.m. July 9 and at 8:30 a.m. July 10 at the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to give comments on the initial consultation package which is the first official step in the relicensing process for Chugach's Cooper Lake hydroelectric project. There will also be a site visit to the project. Additional information on the relicensing project is available on the relicensing Web site at www.chugachelectric.com/relicensing.

Fishing charter winners announced

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce has announced the first two winners of its "Hooked on Kenai! drawing:

Jane Dullum: May 29 winner.

Mark Necessary: June 7 winner.

Each won a free fishing charter donated by Captain Blighs Charters. The Kenai Chamber of Commerce plans to draw a new winner each week at the Chamber lunches at Paradisos at noon now through the end of August.

HEA meeting slated

Homer Electric Association will hold an information meeting about utility construction work taking place this summer in the VIP and Chinulna Point subdivisions.
