Monthly meeting slated for today

Healthy Communities-Healthy People's monthly meeting is today from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Kenai River Center in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-8129.

Self-help meeting planned

The Multiple Sclerosis Self-Help Group will meet today from noon to 2 p.m. in the Central Peninsula General Hospital's Augustine Room. Gary Hale, fire marshal, is the featured speaker, and lunch is provided by Pizza Pete's. For more information, call Barb Johnson at 262-8395.

Ecological walk to be held today

The Kenai Watershed Forum presents a stream ecology walk with Dr. David Wartinbee today at 7 p.m. at the Soldotna Creek Park. To register, call 260-5449.

Chamber meeting is today

The North Peninsula Chamber of Commerce meeting is today at noon at the Lighthouse Inn in North Kenai. Mark Anderson of Lynden Transport will speak.

Antique show planned

The Peninsula Center Mall is hosting an antique show beginning today through Sunday during mall hours. To register, call Shirley at 260-2663.

Low-cost clinic for pets to be held

The Alaska SPCA will host a spay and neuter clinic Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The cost is $50 for female dogs, $40 for male dogs, $40 for female cats and $25 for male cats. To schedule an appointment call, 262-1624. Low-cost vaccinations are also available on those dates after noon. No appointments are necessary for vaccinations.

Hawaiian fund-raiser to be held

The Soldotna Senior Center is holding "A Taste of Hawaii" luau Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets should be purchased in advance. The price is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. For more information, call 262-2322.

Tour of historic Kasilof planned

The Kachemak Heritage Land Trust is hosting a historic tour of Kasilof Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The program costs $20 for a family and $10 per person.
