Summer Day Camp begins today through Aug. 4 at the Nikiski Recreation Community Center. Times are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. For more information, call Rachel Parra at 776-8800.

The Nikiski Senior Service Area board meets at 5 p.m. today at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, call the center at 776-7654.

The Nikiski Middle-Senior High School gym is open to former, current and future volleyball players Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. The program is looking for an assistant coach for the high school season that begins in August. If you have any experience and are interested, call Bruce King at 262-9501.

Science teacher Perry Corsetti will join the 2005-06 staff at Nikiski Middle-Senior High School.

Nikiski Community Recreation Center gym times for adult gym are Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Toddler Time is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you have questions, call the Nikiski pool at 776-8800.

Family Fun in the Midnight Sun is Saturday. The 5-kilometer walk-run race registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race begins at 10 a.m. Activities, carnival booths, food booths and age appropriate games open at noon. The Nikiski Senior Citizens booth will sell slices of homemade pie. For more information, call the Nikiski pool at 776-8800.
