Christ Lutheran hosts concert

Soprano Elena Teresa Bird will give a concert at 7 p.m. today at Christ Lutheran Church. She will be accompanied by Maria Allison on the piano and Emily Grossman on the violin. Works including Handel, Mozart and Strauss will be featured. It is open to the public. For more information, call 776-5898.

Guest speakers set for United Methodist

The United Methodist Church of the New Covenant will have guests speakers Sundays during June. The service begins at 11 a.m. at the church adjacent to the Boys and Girls Club on Frontage Road in Kenai. All are welcome to attend.

On Sunday, Mike Dimmick and Tom Griffiths will share information concerning the annual meeting of the Alaska Missionary Conference of the United Methodist Church recently held in Anchorage. Members of the congregation will help lead the service.

Vacation Bible schools slated

The following area churches will host vacation Bible school:

· Sterling United Pentecostal Church’s vacation Bible school continues through today from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Entrada Drive off Swanson River Road in Sterling. On Saturday at 11 a.m. a picnic and presentation will be held. Children ages 5 to 12 may attend. The theme will be Avalanche Ranch. For more information or to arrange a ride, call 262-9198.

· First Baptist Church of Kenai vacation Bible school’s theme will be “Game Day Central.” Games, snacks and Bible activities are planned. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today for children age 3 through grade six. For more information, call 283-7672.

· Sterling Lutheran Church will hold vacation Bible school from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through June 22 at the church across from the Sterling Elementary School playground. Veggie Tales character lessons, fun activities and snacks are some of the planned activities. Children ages 4 through grade six are welcome to attend. · The Church of the New Covenant’s vacation Bible school will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon June 25 through 29 at the church in Kenai. Children going into kindergarten through sixth grade may attend. Stories, games, songs, craft and a healthy snack will be based on a specific Bible story. Annual Wings of Eagles conference continues

The Kalifonsky Christian Center will hold its annual On the Wings of Eagles conference at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday at the church at Mile 17 of Kalifornsky Beach Road. Speakers from England, Wales, Argentina, New Zealand and the United States will attend. For more information, call 283-9452.
