ADAK (AP) -- A moderate earthquake in the Aleutian Islands shook the town of Adak Friday afternoon, earthquake experts said.
The earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 and was located 81 miles southwest of Adak in the Andreanof Islands. It occurred at 3:33 p.m.
It was felt strongly in Adak, but there were no reports of damage or injuries, according to the Alaska Earthquake Information Center in Fairbanks.
