Boys and Girls Club to host Golf Classic

Reservations are being taken for the Boys and Girls Club's 12th annual Golf Classic. The tournament, sponsored by Agrium, will be Friday at the Kenai Golf Course. Registration and breakfast will be from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

The entry fee is $150 for individual players or $500 for a team of four. Hole sponsorships are $250, and hole-team sponsorships are available fro $500 to $700.

Funds raised will help support Boys and Girls Club programs on the Kenai Peninsula. For more information, call Kim Lee at 283-2682.

Library hours shortened

Due to budget cuts, the Kenai Community Library no longer will be open on Sundays. Beginning July 1, library hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Dance, movement classes available

The Boys and Girls Club in Kenai is taking registrations for a music and movement class and two ballet classes. All three classes will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for six weeks starting July 1. Both boys and girls are welcome in all classes.

Beginning ballet for children ages 2 to 4 will meet at 1 p.m., and beginning ballet for children ages 5 to 7 will meet at 2 p.m.

Music and movement, a class that combines dance, movement and tumbling with the use of props and toys, will meet at 3 p.m. and is open to children ages 3 to 5.

The cost for classes is $50 per participant, plus membership in the Boys and Girls Club. Scholarship applications are available.

Repeat participants are welcome, but the class sizes are limited to 10 children.
