Day camp offered

The North Peninsula Recreation is offering a summer day camp Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Aug. 6 at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Youth in grades first through sixth may attend. Preregistration is not required. For more information, call Tammy at 776-8800.

School computer sales scheduled

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District will sell computers from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following schools around the district: Kenai Central High School -- Thursday and Friday; Skyview High School -- June 24, 25; Ninilchik School -- June 26; Seward High School -- June 29, 30; and Soldotna Middle School -- July 2. Donations sought

Donations are being accepted at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10046 at 134 N. Birch St. in Soldotna for the third annual garage and bake sale slated for Friday and Saturday. Proceeds go to support local veterans and community services. Call the post at 262-2722 for more information.

World series of baseball slated

The Frontier Community Services will host its sixth annual World Series Baseball event June 27 at the Kenai Little League ball fields.

The goal of the event is to give individuals with developmental disabilities an opportunity to enjoy the game of baseball. Sign-in begins at 11 a.m. with opening ceremonies, and the games beginning at noon.

Bereavement day camp available

Hospice of the Central Peninsula presents Camp Mend-A-Heart a free bereavement day camp for children ages 6 to 12 years will be held Aug. 17, 18 and 19 at Solid Rock Bible Camp. Applications for camp are available at the hospice office.
