Kenai resident Nana "Nan" Louise Gambini, 50, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna after a short illness.
A celebration of her life will be held for friends and family at a later date.
Ms. Gambini was born March 11, 1960, in Chicago, Ill. to Frank Solarczyk and Dolores Ingle. She graduated from Las Cruces High School in Las Cruces,N.M. She moved to Anchorage in 1987. She married Howard Patten at Spirit Lake in Kenai on June 11, 2000. They moved to Hamilton, Mont., in 2002 and returned to Kenai in 2005. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading.
"Nan loved and lived life to the fullest. She loved her husband, family and friends deeply, always giving her love unconditionally. She loved all animals, great and small, especially her cat, Paz," her family said. "Nan's beauty, quick wit and wonderful sense of humor could make you laugh and cry at the same time. We are grateful to have had her in our lives and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her."
She is survived by her husband, of Kenai; daughter, Heather Gambini of Las Vegas; son, Nick Gambini, of Las Vegas; father, of Las Cruces, N.M.; mother and stepfather, Dolores and Ben Ingle of Las Cruces; and brothers, Frank Solarczyk, Jr., and David and Sammy Solarczyk, all of Las Cruces.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
