Kenai River Classic to be discussed

Brett Huber of the Kenai River Sport Fishing Association will talk about the Kenai River Classic at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce noon meeting today at the Riverside House.

Social Security reps to visit peninsula

Social Security Administration representatives will be in Seward today at city council chambers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Kenai Wednesday at city hall from noon to 4 p.m. and Homer Thursday at the senior citizens center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Solstice run scheduled

The city of Kenai Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor its annual Summer Solstice 5-kilometer run and walk Friday starting at Leif Hansen Memorial Park at 10 p.m. On-site registration begins at 9 p.m. There is a fee of $15 for adults and $10 for children under 10 years old. Willow walk to be offered

The Kenai Watershed Forum will host a willow walk Saturday with area naturalist Dominique Collet from 9 a.m. to noon starting from the Kenai Peninsula College parking lot. To register or for more information, call the forum at 260-5449.

Women's run planned

The 15th annual Kenai Peninsula Run for Women will be held Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. The run is sponsored by the Women's Resource and Crisis Center. Participants can run, walk, ride in a wheelchair or push a stroller in the 5-kilometer or 10-kilometer race. Registration forms will be at the center and businesses throughout the community. Business services offered

The Women's Roundtable, a group of professional businesswomen from the Kenai Peninsula, is seeking businesses that can use their volunteer filing, painting, cleaning and sorting services. For more information, call 262-7497.

Museum volunteer needed

The Pratt Museum needs volunteers interested in the history and art of Kachemak Bay and the southern Kenai Peninsula to work at the museum. For more information, call Michelle Bayes at (907) 235-8635, ext. 25.

Kenai chamber seeks participants

The theme for this year's Kenai Fourth of July parade is the "Spirit of Alaska." To register for the parade or to rent a vendor booth, call the Kenai Chamber of Commerce at 283-7989. The deadline is Wednesday.
