DAV to meet Thursday

NPC meeting scheduled

Volunteers needed to coach soccer

The Boys and Girls Club is in serious need of summer soccer coaches for the following age groups. In Nikiski, 4- and 5-year-olds; in Kenai, 8- and 9-year-olds; and in Soldotna, 10- and 11-year-olds. CPHC has opening on board of directors

Central Peninsula Health Centers Inc. is looking for interested community members to apply for a seat on the board of directors. At least 51 percent of board members must be consumers or have family members who are consumers of CPHC services. CPHC is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide quality health care regardless of the ability to pay.

HCS offers summer classes

Homer Community schools is offering two summer learning opportunities. Tennis clinics are being offered through the Homer Tennis Association and are available for children in grades three to 12 . The first 18 people who sign up may purchase a new tennis racket for $5. Classes began Monday and will run through July 9 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The class fee is $20. A fundamental kayaking learning skills class also is offered. Dates for classes are Thursday and June 26; July 8,16, 22 and Aug. 1, 14, 21 and 28. All classes are from 6 to 8 p.m. Fees are $10 to register, $20 per class, $18 for two classes or $165 for 10 classes. For more information, call 235-6090.

UCIDA annual meeting slated

The United Cook Inlet Drift Association will hold its 23rd annual membership meeting from 1 to 4 p.m. June 28 at the Kenai Elks Lodge. This meeting is for members only. For more information, call Cindy Hall at 260-9436.

Red Cross to host golf fund-raiser

The 12th annual American Red Cross Golf Classic is planned for July 5 at Birch Ridge Golf Course in Soldotna. For more information about volunteering, sponsoring or playing in the tournament, call 260-6647.

Golf benefit planned for local ministry

The Good Samaritan Ministries will hold a golf tournament at 1 p.m. June 28 at the Cottonwood Country Club in Nikiski.
